The Beauty of Moon Orchids (Phalaenopsis) in Ikenobo Ikebana Workshop
The art of flower arranging not only creates visual beauty but also conveys philosophy, balance, and harmony. These values were at the heart of the Ikenobo Ikebana Demonstration & Free-Style Workshop, organized by the Indonesian Flower Arrangement Association (IPBI) in collaboration with Ikenobo Ikebana Indonesia on June 7, 2026, at Hotel Royal Kuningan, Jakarta.
As part of its commitment to advancing floriculture and promoting appreciation for floral arts in Indonesia, Ekakarya Graha Flora participated in the event. The workshop served as a platform for flower enthusiasts, floral designers, and floriculture industry professionals to learn, exchange ideas, and broaden their understanding of the art of Ikebana.
The event featured Prof. Verdy Leung, President of the Ikenobo Hong Kong Chapter and Special Entrusted Overseas Professor, who shared valuable insights into the philosophy and techniques of Ikenobo Ikebana. Through an inspiring demonstration, participants discovered how each floral arrangement not only showcases beauty but also embodies the harmonious relationship between people and nature.
The program also involved esteemed Ikenobo Ikebana Indonesia Sensei, including Lusy Wahyudi, Lily H. Sutanto, Wendy Mandik, Andy Djati Utomo, and Sindhunata Setiadharma, who shared their knowledge and experience with participants. A variety of floral materials used in the demonstrations and workshops, including Ekakarya’s Phalaenopsis orchids, further enriched the creative exploration presented by the floral artists.
Through both demonstration and hands-on workshop sessions, participants had the opportunity to explore various flower-arranging techniques while gaining a deeper understanding of the principles that form the foundation of Ikebana. The diverse works on display illustrated that Ikebana is more than just the art of arranging flowers—it is a form of expression that emphasizes balance, simplicity, and appreciation for the beauty of nature.
Participation in this event reflects Ekakarya Graha Flora’s ongoing commitment to advancing Indonesia’s floriculture industry while fostering greater appreciation for floral arts across the country.
